This website was created as part of a Spring Quarter 2006 Communications course at the University of Washington which focused on the indescribable era that was the 1960’s, a time encapsulated by sex, drugs, and rock n roll baby!
The goal of this site is to detail the events that took place on December 6, 1969 at Altamont Raceway Park in Livermore, California as well as the implications resulting from its fallout. What was supposed to be a free concert (like Bethel, NY's Woodstock during August of '69) featuring rock legends Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Santana, and Jefferson Airplane will forever be remembered not for the music but instead the tragic events that transpired that fateful day. We are not here to pass judgment only merely to inform, as we believe that the events speak for themselves.
